just a suggestion if you have the skill and is willing to try MUCH harder things look up the album S.C.I.E.N.C.E. from incubus. dirk goes godly at his bass. if you take my advice

No, Fretless basses are really just so you can do vibrato without bending. Its concept is pretty much a string bass. Fretless is really fun, and it isn’t that different from standard fretting situation.(I just made that phrase up, I really like it lol)
