From what I recall when I started to learn the guitar I got most of my tips and techniques from TOTALGUITAR (dot) INFO , they have a huge archive of videos, if you work your way through them, you will start getting the hang of it in no time.

What matters is what you think.

I can relate. Many years ago I had a drum kit at my home and practiced every day for a year, just so I could feel the “other side”.
On You Tube I have only 4 truly sequential bass lesson videos (1-4) – the others are by topic.
Thanks for your kind comments.

What is important is that we play what best suits the song, not what we think others may think.

is it frowned upon if i use a pick? like most the songs my band play are a hell of a lot eaiser with a pick but i don’t wanna look like a tool

Indeed, it’s not exactly that my life is over and I’ve wasted the opportunity to learn, haha

Ive been getting back into the practise of thumb positioning on the striking hand (Right handed player) which I’ve found quiet helpful in practise. I’m still having some issues finding a comfortable position with the left hand on the fretboard. I’m fairly new to playing the bass, so for me its a case of small steps first, learning the position of the strings without having to look and taking small steps at a time. Ive found the starting lessons very usefull. Thanks for the effort & contribution
